The frantic few weeks……the rush to get the orders out before we head off….the decisions on what stock to make…….the last minute pack up and then finally the hours or days in the car. What for you might ask? Read on and we’ll try to explain this and more in our latest blog post about our field day experiences.
Firstly I hear you ask…What are field days? A field day is an event held in rural areas whereby business can showcase their wares and promote their products and services to the wider farming community. Once upon a time these were mostly attended by men but these days the field day provides good wholesome entertainment for the whole family and most feature huge displays of general interest products including clothing, jewellery and home wares.
Out & About Clothing began attending field days a number of years back. We find it a great way to expose our brand to thousands of potential customers over a two or three day period. Some field days have up to 100,000 people attend their event over a two or three day period. We allow those thousands of customers to see firsthand the Out & About collection, touch, feel, try our tops on and the opportunity to ask questions, meet the maker and hear the Out & About story. What better way is there! The brilliant thing for us is that even if only a small percentage of these thousands of people take note and remember the Out & About name and hopefully a few even take an Out & About rugby or two home with them, then our work here is done! You the customer go off and wear your new purchase, look fabulous in it and of course all your friends want to know where you got it!
We love attending field days. Yes they are a lot of work and unfortunately at this stage, our store at Keith is closed while we are in attendance at these events but for us, the benefits sure outweigh the downfalls. We learn a lot from watching you the customer shop. Yes, I know you would rather not know that people are taking notice of what you are taking notice of……but we do. We notice what colours you are tending to steer towards, which tops make you stop and take a second look, how our rugby’s look on people of all different shapes and sizes which in turn enables us to better tailor our product to meet your needs and wants.
So be sure to keep a look out for us at a location near you and in the mean time I encourage you to plan a visit to our shop at Keith, SA if at all possible and of course, shop our full range online at www.outandaboutclothing.com.au
