To do something well………… you have got to love what you do!
As I was walking around my newly established shop the other day….I had one of those, I love what I am doing moments. Out & About has come so far and for that sweet moment I actually felt that sense of achievement!
Out & About Clothing was established back in 2001 as a hobby and way to fill in my time when I has at home with my ‘then’ little kids. We remained a home based business for the next 15 years and only last August did we venture out and shift our business out of home and into a larger, more suitable workspace in my home town of Keith.
With this move to larger premises for manufacturing in 2016, come the addition of a shop front for the business as well. A move that after approaching the end of our 8th month, we can safely say has been a brilliant move for Out & About Clothing. We have seen increased sales with the opportunity for customers to have a permanent location to come and view our range. Pop up shops at machinery field days are great……but they are busy, sometimes hot, sometimes cold and sometimes it all just seems to hard. We are proud of our store. It is a constant temp, tops are displayed spread out and easy to see, the maker is there to discuss your every need and generally there is a lot of stock on hand to view and potentially purchase!
I love what I do! I have been doing it for 16 years now and I love seeing my customers wear a garment that I have designed & created (or at least overseen the creation of – we have a small team of capable sewers to assist with the creation these days)
I love choosing colours and piecing together new colour combinations.
I love selecting new fabrics and get quite excited about the prospect of creating a new combination that I can’t wait to add to my online store so that I can see if you all love it too!
I love hearing you ummm and arrr over which to choose because you love them all.
I love the fact that our products are Australian made and that you love this too!
I love the fact that we have been able to create jobs in our small South Australian town.
And most of all………I just love our product!!
