Where do I shop when standard sized garments do not fit me?
What does custom sizing mean?
How do I measure for custom sizing?
These questions and more will be answered in this blog. Sit back, relax and let me explain what we can do for you.
With Out & About Clothing you are lucky enough to have the option to have a top custom sized just for you. What does this mean……. it means that no matter what your size or height, we can create a rugby based on one of our signature styles, to fit you. We sew all items individually (none of that mass produced stuff at Out & About Clothing) This gives us the scope to cut your rugby a few cm longer or shorter. It enables us to add extra width on to the side seams and even do split sizes ie, different size at the bust than that at the hips. Really, the options are endless.
If you like the relaxed fit rugby (that usually comes with a drop shoulder style) but you like the sleeves to sit up on your true shoulder, we can adjust the pattern to accommodate this.
If you like the flattering fit of the semifitted rugby’s (which are usually a little shorter in body length) but you prefer the tops to cover your bum, we can do that!
If your boobs are small and your hips are big – no problem!
If you hips are small and your boobs are big – We can work with this!
Nothing is too much trouble!
The easiest way to sort out exactly what you are wanting is to pop in to visit us at our store in Keith, South Australia. We will get you to try on some of our standard sizes until we get one close to the fit that you are after and then we will take notes as to any modifications you would like to ensure that the top that we make for you is the perfect fit. Our field days are a good chance to do this also! We pop up at approx 8 locations around Australia and visit most states during each year.
Alternatively you can use the size chart located on our website to give yourself a guide on which size to choose. Maybe order a couple of different sizes or maybe a semi fitted as well as a relaxed fit to see the difference in fit. Remember that the relaxed fits are a very generous fit so choose 1 size smaller in the relaxed fit rugby’s to that of the semi fitted ones. For example; a size medium relaxed fit will fit similar to the size large semi fitted.
Another option is to take measurements off of a similar top that you have already got that fits you well. We can use these measurements to formulate the width and length of your new rugby. Once you get one of our Out & About Rugby’s, we can base any future alterations on this. Ie the last one was great but I’d like the next one to be another 3 cm longer in the body length etc. We keep notes on all previous sizing modifications to make future ordering easy!
Remember…I am more than happy to speak to you and guide you over the phone on your size selection. Be sure to give me a call on 0429 196 853 and I can answer any questions you may have before placing your order.
